tomato prawn pasta

i can't believe that this concoction of ingredients actually worked!! i just threw in things that i thought would match, and bham! the best pasta dish i've ever made (without follwing a recipe) was born :)

Recipe (serves 3)
300g thin spaghetti (cooked as per instructions)
3 tbs olive oil
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1/2 tbs chilli flakes
1 1/2 tbs chopped mixed italian herbs
15 green prawns, peeled
6 cherry tomatoes, halved
3/4 cup frozen peas
1 tbs capers
3/4 cup diced tomatoes
1/2 cup white wine
1/4 cup thickened cream
salt and pepper to taste

Heat oil and fry the garlic, chilli flakes and herbs, then add the prawns and fry for 2-3 minutes. Remove the prawns from pan.

Then add the cherry tomatoes, peas, capers, fry for 2 minutes. Then add the diced tomatoes and white wine and bring to boil and then simmer for 5 minutes.

Add in the cream, stir, and simmer for 2 minutes, and return the prawns to the pan to warm up. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Serve on the pasta. yum!

Sticky cinnamon buns!

Surprise! The sticky cinnamon buns are here! They made my apartment smell like a cinnamon factory, for 2 whole days :) i'm one very happy person!

i brought them to uni today to share the joy and my friends gasped with excitement when they saw the huge bag of buns :) what a funny moment, i never knew that i could get a reaction like this :)

the buns were good, but lacked filling and weren't sweet enough (eventhough i had doubled it and added a maple syprup glaze), but no worries, i can assure you that the next batch will be all-improved-blow-your-tastesocks-off, very sticky, cinnamon buns. :)

It's handy to have a the bread maker around :) and it's kinda endearing and nice to have a soft, warm loaf of bread waiting for you to get home after 9 hours of uni. oh, bless.
